Testimonials

"Clinics at Brook Hill are not only instructional, they are fun!  Gordon breaks down tennis play so you learn how to be a better player and how to work with a partner if you play doubles.  He covers technique as well as strategy.  The Spring tennis league is so much fun because all the players are fun and relaxed.  They enjoy competitive play without intensity.  You get to enjoy the outdoors and camaraderie of other tennis enthusiasts!" - Eve Stewart

"I love playing for the Town & Country League at Brookhill.  It is a phenomenal group of women and extremly well organized.  It is a great way to have fun, get exercise, meet great people and get some fresh air!!" - Margo Langer

"Gordon has completely transformed my game in less than a year with clear step by step guidance.  I am so much more confident and effective on the court.  BrookHill's Town & Country tennis team has been so friendly and welcoming.  League play has been both fun and challenging.  I'm so glad I signed up!" - Tia Hestone

Our Instructors

Tennis has been a lifelong passion for Gordon Paul, Director of Tennis at Brook Hill Swim and Tennis Club in Watchung, New Jersey.

Paul,  who is certified by both the USPTA and PTR Tennis Associations, has developed Brook Hill into one of the top outdoor tennis programs for all levels. He has gained a reputation for taking beginners and developing them into ranked junior and college players.

His passion began when he played high school tennis at Jersey Academy, now Academic High School in Jersey City.  As a college player, he was named one of the few player/coaches at Franklin Pierce University in New Hampshire.

A former columnist for the Star-Ledger in Newark, Paul had the opportunity to learn the game from some of the worlds best coaches and players.  He credits coaches George Basco, former President of the United States Professional Tennis Association, and world renowned coach Rick Macci  with helping him gain a better technical understanding of the game.

Over the years, Paul has sent some of his players to Florida to work with Macci, who trained the Williams sisters, Andy Roddick, and many of the top ten players in recent years. Macci believes great technique makes great players and Paul uses the same cutting edge technique to help his students.

Clinics, private lessons and half-day programs are available for members and non members.

Paul is happy to welcome teaching pro Adedotum Osho to our program. A product of the Plainfield Tennis Association, Osho was one of the top high school tennis players in the state and later played at Lincoln University in Pennsylvania, where he was selected to the All-CIAA Men's Tennis Team.

Osho prides himself on having been a self-taught player who achieved great success on the tennis court. The PTR certified coach displays his strong work ethic with students on the court.
